Lt. Mate Magwara, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC) for Bukonzo County, has urged local community members to move away from divisive political debates and instead focus on wealth creation to improve their livelihoods.
Speaking yesterday at the requiem service for the late Edson Kapuru Kagheni, 59, in Mubawa village, Bwera Subcounty, Kasese District, Lt. Magwara expressed concern over ongoing political discussions that yield no tangible benefits. He emphasized that financial empowerment is key to addressing daily economic challenges faced by families.
He also cautioned mourners against being distracted by political affiliations, describing the late Mzee Kapuru as a respected advocate for peace, reconciliation, and hard work.
Meanwhile, Mr. Enos Nyabutundu, Political Assistant to State Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga, attributed rising cases of theft, street children, and teenage pregnancies to parental negligence and failure to prioritize education.
