Kampala, Uganda – June 2, 2025
In a bold and spirited move that has electrified the political landscape of Kanungu District, Venerable Reverend Justus Tibesigwa has officially picked nomination forms to contest in the upcoming NRM party primaries for the position of District Chairman.
This marks a significant step forward in his campaign to become the National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The occasion unfolded at the NRM Electoral Commission headquarters on Plot 13, Kyadondo Road in Kampala, where supporters, well-wishers, and party loyalists accompanied Rev. Tibesigwa with chants of hope and unity.
Clad in his signature calm demeanor and exuding a deep sense of purpose, Reverend Tibesigwa called on the people of Kanungu to rally behind a new era of transformative leadership.
“I have come not just to seek political office, but to serve with integrity, compassion, and vision. Our people deserve efficient service delivery, accountable leadership, and development that reaches every corner of Kanungu,” said Rev. Tibesigwa shortly after receiving the forms.
A Leader Rooted in Service
Reverend Tibesigwa’s leadership track record speaks volumes. With years of service as a community leader, educator, and spiritual guide, he has consistently prioritized the welfare of the people over personal gain.
His initiatives in health outreach, youth empowerment, and agricultural development have touched countless lives in the district. He is widely respected for being accessible, transparent, and grounded in the needs of ordinary citizens.
Unlike leaders who disappear after elections, Rev. Tibesigwa has been a constant figure on the ground — walking with the people, praying with the people, and working with the people.
Why He Is the Right Flag Bearer for NRM
At a time when the NRM seeks to reassert its vision of steady progress and grassroots transformation, Reverend Tibesigwa embodies the very values that define the party: patriotism, hard work, and unwavering commitment to development.
His candidacy offers the NRM not just a strong chance at victory, but a leader who can unify the district and bring the party closer to the people.
His campaign is anchored on key pillars:
1. Improved Service Delivery: A focus on functional healthcare, improved education facilities, and clean water access.
2. Agricultural Revitalization: Supporting farmers with tools, training, and market access to boost household incomes.
3. Youth and Women Empowerment: Creating job opportunities and entrepreneurship programs for youth and women.
4. Accountable Leadership: Ensuring transparency and active citizen participation in governance.
5. Infrastructure Development: Upgrading roads, expanding rural electrification, and investing in digital connectivity.
A Rallying Call to the People of Kanungu
As the countdown to the NRM primaries begins, Reverend Tibesigwa is calling on all NRM supporters, opinion leaders, youth groups, religious institutions, and voters in Kanungu to unite behind his candidature.
“The future of Kanungu is in our hands. We must choose leaders who put people first. I am ready to serve, and I ask for your support, your prayers, and your vote. Let us walk this journey together, for a better Kanungu that works for everyone,” he declared.
With his nomination now official, all eyes turn to the campaign trail, where Reverend Justus Tibesigwa promises to bring a message of unity, transformation, and hope to every parish and every village in Kanungu.
The message is clear: Kanungu deserves better — and better begins with Tibesigwa.
