Muhoozi Kainerugaba Appoints Felix Kaihura as PLU’s New head National Media Task Force

The national chairman Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has appointed Felix Kaihura as  new head, National

media Task Force, in a move party leaders say will strengthen communication and public engagement within the organisation.

PLU’s National Vice Chairman, Mr Niwagira Toyota who signed the appointment letter on behalf of Gen Kainerugaba describes the appointment as part of the league’s broader strategy to improve coordination between the national secretariat and regional communication teams.

“Felix Kaihura understands the power of clear messaging and disciplined communication,” Mr Niwagira said. “We believe he will help amplify PLU’s message of unity, transparency and people-centred development across the country.”

Mr Kaihura, who takes over the newly structured role, pledged to serve diligently and ensure the party’s values are effectively communicated to the public.

“This appointment is both an honour and a responsibility,” he says. “My focus will be on building strong relationships with the media, ensuring timely communication and engaging young Ugandans in meaningful political discourse.”

Party officials say Mr Kaihura’s experience in youth mobilisation and his background in student leadership made him an ideal choice for the position. Under his coordination, PLU is expected to roll out a series of community dialogues, media briefings, and digital campaigns aimed at strengthening the party’s grassroots visibility.

Background

Before joining PLU, Mr Kaihura built his public profile through student leadership. While pursuing a Law degree at Nkumba University, he was elected Guild President after a tightly contested race in which he garnered the highest vote percentage.

He has also been a civil servant under Nira
and served as vice chairman National youth council under Aber Lilian and minister Phiona Nyamutooro
